The initial assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of the pelvic floor and related musculoskeletal system. It includes a detailed discussion of your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle factors, and specific concerns such as bladder, bowel, sexual function, or pelvic pain. A physical assessment will be performed, which may include examination of posture, breathing patterns, abdominal function, and pelvic alignment. With your informed consent, an internal pelvic floor examination may be conducted to assess muscle tone, strength, coordination, and any areas of dysfunction. Based on the findings, a personalized treatment plan will be developed. This may include education, pelvic floor muscle training, manual therapy, breathing and core coordination exercises, and strategies to improve bladder and bowel habits.
