Tanya completed her Master of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia in 2018, having previously obtained her Honours Bachelor of Biomedical Science with a minor in Psychology from the University of Ottawa in 2015. Since then, Tanya has continued to pursue post-graduate education to further develop her repertoire of skills.
She has completed additional training in advanced concussion management, dry needling, Mulligan Concept manual therapy techniques, non-internal pelvic floor rehabilitation, and The Running Athlete. Tanya has also completed certification in advanced vestibular rehabilitation to treat a wide array of vestibular issues such as BPPV, vestibular neuritis, labyrinthitis, vestibular migraines, Meniere's, and persistent postural-perceptual dizziness (aka PPPD/3PD). She has completed the Advanced Integrative Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Program level 3.
Tanya has developed a deep appreciation for quality, individualized care that focuses on her clients and their goals, whether they are to return to sport or to daily life and work. She combines her manual therapy skills and knowledge of exercise science to develop comprehensive treatment programs to get her clients back on their feet as soon as possible. Tanya is also able to take French and Russian speaking clients.
In her spare time, Tanya enjoys skiing, hiking, cycling, and bouldering. She also holds a Diploma in Canine Rehabilitation to treat our four-legged friends.

At your initial appointment, a comprehensive evaluation will be done on your jaw (TMJ), neck, shoulder girdle, and thoracic spine in order to determine if one or a combination of these structures are causing your symptoms. After this, your physiotherapist will create a treatment plan based on the nature of your symptoms and your specific needs. Our tele-health physiotherapy assessment is done virtually (either by phone or video conference) and can be done directly through our secure Janeapp. Your physiotherapist will do an extensive interview with you regarding your signs, symptoms, and goals. If done by video, your physiotherapist will ask you to perform movements and tests to help diagnose the problem in order to come up with a treatment plan moving forward. A treatment and plan in this case may look like educating you on how to self-treat the problem using specific techniques, postures, exercises and positions. Your first vestibular physiotherapy assessment includes a thorough discussion to better understand your symptoms and identify your individual concerns and treatment goals. Depending on your therapy goals, treatment can include education, canal repositioning maneuvers and rehabilitative (habituation) exercise to name a few.
