This postpartum planning session is designed to support new parents as they prepare for life with a newborn. Unlike a birth plan, which outlines your wishes for labour and delivery, a postpartum plan helps you prepare for physical and emotional challenges
that accompany labour and birth as well the daily realities of life with a newborn.
Postpartum plans are tailor to meet your (and your partner’s) unique needs, however topics commonly explored include: Actionable advice for optimal fourth trimester physical and emotional recovery, Strategies for identifying and addressing postpartum mood disorders, Sleep Optimization, Healthy parent-child attachment right from the start, Anticipatory guidance on feeding, sleep, and basic newborn care, Tips for
organizing support from family, friends and community resources, Tips for promoting active participation from your partner right from the start, PMAD risk assessments and screening.
