Sarah Fell is a Registered Nurse Psychotherapist and Prenatal Educator. With **15 years of experience in perinatal nursing and maternal/child health, she also draws from her personal experience as a mother of two young boys.** Sarah holds a degree in Biological
Sciences with a minor in Family and Child Studies, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology, and a Nurse Psychotherapist Certificate. She is a member of the College of Nurses of Ontario and the Nurse Psychotherapy Association of
Ontario.
**Her background as a labor and delivery nurse, prenatal educator, and public health home visiting nurse provides her with an intimate understanding of the joys and challenges of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum health and wellness, and infant mental health promotion.**

This postpartum planning session is designed to support new parents as they prepare for life with a newborn. Unlike a birth plan, which outlines your wishes for labour and delivery, a postpartum plan helps you prepare for physical and emotional challenges that accompany labour and birth as well the daily realities of life with a newborn. Postpartum plans are tailor to meet your (and your partner’s) unique needs, however topics commonly explored include: Actionable advice for optimal fourth trimester physical and emotional recovery, Strategies for identifying and addressing postpartum mood disorders, Sleep Optimization, Healthy parent-child attachment right from the start, Anticipatory guidance on feeding, sleep, and basic newborn care, Tips for organizing support from family, friends and community resources, Tips for promoting active participation from your partner right from the start, PMAD risk assessments and screening.
