A PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) scalp treatment is a non-surgical procedure that utilizes your own blood to boost your hair follicles ability to become thicker, and encourage hair growth. PRP treatments can improve the hair texture, and reverse thinning hair.
The process consists of drawing a vial of your blood, which is placed in a centrifuge. Red blood cells are separated from platelets and plasma in the centrifuge, resulting in PRP replete with proteins and growth factors. Once PRP is created, it is strategically injected into the scalp to encourage regeneration of your hair follicles.
Combined with SkinPen® Microneedling, the treatment triggers the regeneration process by creating temporary micro-channels or tiny indentations across the treatment area. In addition to promoting hair restoration, the micro-channels improve the efficacy of the PRP by allowing for deeper penetration into the scalp.
