For patients who are 36 weeks pregnant or further along. Labour preparation acupuncture helps to prepare the body for birth. Receiving acupuncture treatment in the last few weeks of pregnancy can help relieve pain and muscle tension, promote relaxation, and gently encourage the shift in hormones needed to move towards labour.
The initial appointment includes an assessment regarding your pregnancy and health history, treatment plan and acupuncture treatment.

Most of the appointment is spent mapping out what’s going on in your body and choosing points, then resting with fine needles in place for a stretch — sometimes with heat, cups or electrical stimulation — and you leave with a sense of what was treated and whether more sessions make sense.
