The pelvic health physiotherapist will also review your general health history and any surgical procedures, medications, or prior physiotherapy that you have received for these conditions. Your physiotherapist will then develop a personalized program to help you address any dysfunction or pain associated with pelvic health issues. You will be provided treatment, education, and exercise to help get you started right from the start. This appointment is for patients with a new injury or condition who have a valid doctor’s referral specifying the body part or diagnosis being assessed. To qualify for OHIP-funded physiotherapy: • The injury/condition must be new, or the result of a new mechanism of injury • The same injury must not have been previously treated under OHIP funding, unless there has been a new incident causing it to worsen or change • Your referral must clearly indicate the area of the body or medical condition Who is eligible? With a valid Ontario Health Card, you can receive government-funded physiotherapy if you are: -65 years or older - 19 years or under - any age after an overnight hospital stay or an outpatient/day surgery procedure (within the last 12 months) for a condition requiring physiotherapy -a recipient of the Ontario Works or the Ontario Disability Support Program If you are unsure whether you qualify, please contact the clinic.
