John graduated from the University of Windsor with a bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics. His passion for sports and for athlete development led him to obtain his certification as a Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
John played volleyball at the varsity level for 5 years while at the University of Windsor. As the captain for 3 years John helped to lead his team to 2 OUA bronze medals and one individual All-Canadian nod in 2018. After graduating from school John went on to play professional volleyball for one season in the 1. Bundesliga in Germany.
John’s goal is to increase the physical and mental fitness of his athletes by coaching functional movement patterns and implementing strength and conditioning programs specific to each athlete and or sport. John also has diverse experience in leading group classes and helping
different populations rehab from injury quickly and effectively.
When John isn’t in the gym, he enjoys playing beach volleyball, working out and playing the guitar.

This two-session process is designed for individuals looking to reduce pain, improve movement, begin functional training, or work toward general fitness goals. Our clinical team evaluates mobility, strength, stability, and movement patterns to identify limitations affecting performance, comfort, or progress. Using clinical screening and objective performance testing, we create a fully detailed, personalized training plan. (Second session will be booked after the assessment at no extra cost) Session 1 – Assessment • Movement and mobility assessment • Strength and stability evaluation • VALD performance testing (when appropriate) • Injury and health history review • Goal setting Session 2 – Program Review & Coaching • Detailed review of your custom fitness plan • Movement and exercise technique instruction • Training guidance and progression planning Ideal for: pain management, functional training, injury prevention, and general fitness improvement. Re-Assessment & Program Update (2 Sessions) – $50 Off This two-session program is designed for clients who have already completed an initial assessment at Velocity Sports Medicine. It’s the perfect way to track progress, update your personalized training plan, and refine movement techniques. Session 1 – Re-Assessment • Updated movement and mobility evaluation • Strength, stability, and performance testing • Review progress since initial assessment Session 2 – Program Update & Coaching • Detailed review of your updated training plan • Technique guidance and adjustments • Progression strategies to keep you moving toward your goals Ideal for: tracking improvement, addressing new limitations, refining technique, and maintaining long-term functional fitness. Note: This program is $50 less than the initial assessment & custom training plan.
