Julie completed her Bachelor of Sport and Fitness Leadership at Camosun College in Victoria in 2018. She is registered with BCAK as a Practicing Kinesiologist. After graduating she worked at two non-profits for clients with a cancer diagnosis, providing education, exercise guidance, group classes and personalized exercise programs. In the last few years she has worked in general private practice at two physio clinics and at a gym as a personal trainer. She has experience with injury rehab, and various health concerns and conditions.
Julie is a big believer in encouraging sustainable behaviour change and making exercise a key component of a healthy lifestyle. She approaches client care with kind, empathetic understanding, meeting individuals where they are at and encouraging them forwards.
Julie was born and raised in the Comox Valley. She loves nature and enjoys hiking, camping, snowboarding, paddle boarding, running, and driving her Dad’s boat as fast as it goes.

Description: This is an exercise class that is tailored to the peri menopausal or menopausal woman. It focuses on practical education pieces, a proper warm up, core exercises, 4-6 fundamental compound movements and static stretches, as well as higher intensity circuit training. Modifiable as needed, and follows guidelines from Dr Stacy Sims. Criteria: peri-menopausal or menopausal age. Able to get up and down off the floor independently, and stand on a chair or bench for a short time. Appropriate for participants who have done a previous Menopause exercise class with me, or those who are new.

Description: This class is a full body strengthening class where we will work on both fundamental movements and other strength exercises, as well as balance and flexibility. The class gets progressively more challenging throughout the 6 weeks. Come join in the fun and work on exercises that help with fall prevention. Criteria: Great for those who have completed Level 1 or who meet the following criteria: you are able to go from sitting to standing without using your hands, can stand on 1 leg for 10 seconds, can walk for more than 45 minutes at a time, and know how to squat and row.
