A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is a comprehensive evaluation designed to determine the patient's capacity to perform physical demands.
This evaluation involves a subjective assessment, a musculoskeletal evaluation, and a series of tests focusing on evaluating the patient's ability to execute specific movement patterns, positional abilities or job simulated tasks.
The results of this assessment are used to determine the patient's functional ability and physical tolerances.

What it is
Most of this first physiotherapy visit is spent figuring out what’s driving the problem — history, movement, strength and hands-on testing — then some treatment if there’s time, and you leave with a clearer picture and a plan for what comes next.
