Valeria Ciric
Valeria (Val) Ciric is a Registered Social Worker and holds a Master of Social Work with a focus
in Health and Mental Health from the University of Toronto. She works with individuals and

working more broadly with clients facing complex life transitions and emotional challenges in
any stage of life.
Val has several years of experience working with children and their families in various capacities
across sectors, including mental/community health, child welfare, research, and policy. She has
experience supporting parents and families through complex and emotionally charged
situations, including parenting stress, high-conflict relationships, custody and access, and the
impacts of trauma. Val approaches this work from a trauma-informed and family-centred
perspective, recognizing that each person’s experiences are shaped by their relationships,
histories, and the broader systems around them.
Val’s approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that people’s responses make
sense in context. She works with clients to slow things down, explore what’s underneath the
surface, and find ways of coping and relating that feel more manageable and aligned. She
draws from a range of approaches, including emotion-focused, cognitive-behavioural, systemic,
and psychodynamic, and feminist perspectives, tailoring her work to each person’s needs.
Val creates space for the complexity of playing multiple roles and wearing many ‘hats’ in our
lives. She seeks to practice with cultural humility and pays close attention to how culture,
identity, and relational dynamics shape our experiences - particularly in the context of family
relationships, expectations, and intergenerational dynamics.
Her background also includes crisis intervention work, supporting individuals through periods of
acute distress with care, presence, and a focus on safety and stabilization.
She is currently completing a certificate in Death, Dying, and Bereavement at Wilfrid Laurier
University, which informs her work with clients navigating grief and loss.
Outside of her work, Val enjoys baking, watching reality television and documentaries, and
spending time thrifting and crafting.
Val strives to create a space where clients feel safe, seen, and not judged. She understands
that reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and welcomes clients to connect when they
feel ready.
Val can support you with:
Navigating pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood

Processing grief and loss, including pregnancy loss

This package is for those interested in learning how to nurture healthy sleep habits from the very start. At this stage, your baby will not sleep through the night as they require night feedings. This package does not provide any sort of rigid schedule and is educational in nature. Infants and children will continue to need assistance at night, and that is developmentally appropriate. This is about optimizing sleep, not preventing the child from calling for assistance when needed. The focus is on attachment, bonding, and emotional wellbeing while understanding that though we can optimize sleep, it is still within an age appropriate framework and realistic expectation is of utmost importance. This is a holistic, no sleep training approach. As such, we do not promote "cry it out" techniques, separation based techniques, premature withdrawal of comfort, controlled comfort or the premature cessation of night feeds. The package includes: Includes: - 60 minute intro call to address questions and provide sleep education for 0-4 months - 2 x 30 minute follow up calls - Personalized recommendations for the family
Please choose this appointment for babies 0-4 months. This will include an intake analysis, a 1 hour sleep education call, and one 20-30 minute video call check in to be used anytime in the two weeks following the sleep education call.
