Cups are quite literally suction cups. Either strategically placed or maneuvered over the tissue. Cups can be used in different ways for different reasons. We can use very gentle cupping to aid in manual lymphatic drainage (MLD). We can also use cups more forcefully to break up fascial adhesions. And leaving cups static, over areas of reduced blood flow can increase healing time in sports injury, chronic repetitive injury and strain, tendinitis, and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Registered Massage Therapy is an outcome based treatment. Your RMT will work with you to create a treatment plan based on your unique assessment and goals.
Consult, intake, assessment and charting time will vary by appointment and is included in every therapeutic treatment. This is included in your reserved appointment time. Therefore the time reserved for your treatment will not be solely hands-on.

Most of the hour is spent on the table while the therapist works through the areas you’ve agreed to focus on — pressure, pace and techniques shifting as they go — with a brief check-in before and after so you leave knowing what was worked on.
